Certification is not "one and done." To maintain your ABO or NCLE credentials, you must:
- Renew every 3 years.
- Complete 12 Continuing Education (CE) credits (for ABO).
- Complete 18 Continuing Education (CE) credits (for NCLE).
- Pay a renewal fee (approximately $85).
Once you have your basic certification, you can pursue Advanced and Master level certifications to further your career and salary potential.
Many states use the ABO/NCLE exams as their official state licensing exam. However, some states (like Florida) have their own additional practical examinations.
